SGRT Offered a Place on the New Heritage Compass Programme
Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust is thrilled to have been offered a place on a new Heritage Compass Programme, represented by our newly appointed Gasworks Manager, Rachael Cooksey.
This a brand-new Business Support Programme, run by Cause4 is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Working in partnership with Creative England and the Arts Marketing Association, it has been designed to grow resilience and invigorate the heritage sector across England.
Over two years, the Trust will be taking part, alongside 150 small and medium heritage organisations from across the country in a programme designed to allow a wide range of heritage organisations to build their resilience through working together, as well as developing their individual strategies. Organisations gain tailored training, mentoring and peer learning, developing strategies and moving forward as part of a dynamic new cohort of Heritage organisations.
“We are thrilled to have been offered a place on the programme. As we move into the next stage of the project, and plan to open the newly conserved and restored Gasworks to the public early in 2022, the skills staff will acquire during the programme will be extremely beneficial to the future success of the Gasworks as a sustainable community and heritage facility” Rachael Cooksey, Gasworks Manager.
